Frequently asked questions.

01. How far in advance do we need to book?

Depending on what you are looking to book with us, we frequently have reservations a year or more in advance. Depending on the month of your wedding, we may be booked up for that weekend already, please inquire! It’s important to get in touch with us as soon as possible to reserve your date because we restrict the amount of weddings we take a year to ensure that we will have enough time to focus on each one individually, while still working our full-time jobs, doing our other photography, and enjoying our personal lives as well. As soon as you are certain that we are the right photography and videography service for you, it’s best to finalize your booking. To reserve your date, you must submit a retainer and completed contract. Please reach out and we can get these to you ASAP!

02. How many images are included?

This answer all depends on what package you are buying, what occasion we are photographing, and how long we are there for! Family packages can be anywhere between 10-25 and up, Seasonal mini’s 3-10 and up, and wedding packages depend on the hour (50-60 per hour there!)

03. What should I wear?

We can guide you on colours and what looks good and what clashes. At the end of the day, the photos we are taking for you are your photos to cherish, and we want you to be happy in them and for you to feel like yourself in them! `

05. Do you have your own studio?

We do not have our own studio. We know of plenty of studios in the Hamilton/Burlington area that we can work out of, though! Please keep in mind that there is an added cost when we book a studio. Here are a few we like:

06. Are pets welcome?

Of course! We both love pets and animals, of all kinds. Pets are always welcome, unless you choose to shoot in a studio and they do not allow animals.

07. When and where will I receive my gallery?

We always aim to get your photos edited and released to you ASAP. Depending on the shoot, we will let you know when booking with you the turnaround time. With weddings, you can expect a full gallery within 10-12 weeks with a preview within 2 weeks. Don’t worry though, you will get some sneak peaks within a few days! For engagements, it usually is a turnaround of 2-3 weeks. The photos will be delivered in an online private gallery, and you will be able to download the images in full resolution.

09. Will you travel to photograph us? Is there a fee?

Yes! We do travel. We are local to Hamilton/Burlington, but willing to travel depending on our personal schedules during the time you would need us. If your location is more than 50km away from us in distance, we will incur travel expenses; the charge will be based on 80 cents per kilometre we are driving. No matter where your wedding or engagement photos are taking place, we will strive to be there for you!

15. What is the best time for maternity portraits?

It is always best to schedule your maternity session when you are between 32 and 35 weeks pregnant so you have a nice, round baby bump, but you are still able to move around relatively easily at this stage! That’s what we are aiming to catch after all.

16. Why do I need to pay a deposit?

All of our packages require a non-refundable deposit of $125 + HST. This initial deposit reserves your session time and gets put towards the cost of your session. We understand that sometimes things happen, kids get sick, there are family emergencies…. so you are able to reschedule your session up to 24 hours before the session date and your deposit will move to your new session date. But if you cancel your session and do not reschedule, your deposit is forfeit. Cancellations and rescheduling must be submit 24 hours prior to your session time. If you do not show up to your session, or you are more than 15 minutes late, your deposit will be forfeit and you must reschedule a new appointment and pay a new deposit. Please let us know if you have any schedule changes or any issues arise as soon as you can and we will try to be flexible and accommodate your needs!

17. What happens if it’s forecasted to rain?

If your session is booked for indoors, no worries it will continue as planned. If your session is booked for outdoors, on the day leading up to our session, we will check the hourly forecast to see if there is a high chance of rain during our session time. If so, we will reach out and reschedule your session. If so, your deposit will be pushed to the new date. A cloudy forecast is perfectly fine, clouds give even a flattering light to work with!
